Process service is the legal way to give someone notice that they are involved in a court case. It means delivering official court papers to the person (or business) being sued or asked to appear in court.

This step is required by law so that everyone has a fair chance to respond or show up in court.

Why is Process Service Important?

Serving papers the right way:

  • Makes sure the other person knows about the case
  • Gives them a chance to respond
  • Helps your case move forward without delays or dismissals
  • Creates proof that you followed the law

Who Can Serve Legal Papers?

In New York, legal papers must be delivered by:

  • Someone 18 years or older
  • Someone not involved in the case

At CNY Process Solutions, our trained servers know the laws and follow the proper steps to make sure your papers are served the right way.

What Happens After Service?

After your papers are delivered, we will give you a document called an Affirmation of Service. This is a sworn statement that shows:

  • Who was served
  • Where and when the papers were delivered
  • How the service was done (in person, at their home, posted, etc.)

You can use this affirmation to prove in court that the person was properly served.
