NY Process Express is always on the lookout for motivated and dedicated individuals to join our network of professional process servers throughout the State of New York. We are also looking to build partnerships with other established firms in the state for job trading.
As a process server, you will perform a variety of tasks, the most frequent of which is to deliver (or serve) notice of pending legal action to defendants in civil cases. This can include lawsuits, Family Court cases, evictions, wills and estate matters, and more. You'll also provide other related services like filing documents in court, researching court records and obtaining documents, checking on properties to see if they're vacant and what condition they're in, and attending foreclosure auctions.
You'll work as a 1099 independent contractor, not an employee, of our company. That means you'll be able to set your own schedule and methods of doing the work, as long as the work gets done within the requirements that we mutually agree on. You'll be responsible for paying your own taxes at the end of the year and be able to deduct business related expenses.
To become a process server, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
* Please note that we fully comply with New York State Corrections Law Article 23-A in reviewing any record of criminal history.
If you are interested in joining our team, complete the application below. We'll review your application and, if accepted, we'll begin the onboarding process. The onboarding process involves a background check, driver history check, and some legal documents that will need to be signed.
